The form of communication that interests me the most would have to be intrapersonal. I found intrapersonal communication very intriguing because I personally never realized how often I do it, until after reading this article. When it's silent and i have nothing to focus on I'm constantly reflectively thinking. But even when i should be focusing or listening to others i find myself communicating with myself in my head. This is also supper interesting to me because others are also constantly reflectively thinking, and we all have our own personal and unique thoughts.
My major is English and i am minoring is Secondary Education, my professional goal is to become a high school English teacher. I really like reading and writing, and i know that sounds extremely cliche. As a high school student, i didn't enjoy any subjects really or appreciate any of the contexts. Over time i gradually started to develop a love for writing, creative writing and poetry to be exact. I was still unsure what i wanted with my future for the longest time until i connected with one of my former high school English teachers. She has inspired me to take the path that i am currently in.

I also noticed how second nature it is to self talk. Even when engaging in conversation with someone else, it's easy to get lost in your own thoughts whether it be about the conversation or something else you have going on. That was a very well put observation. I also think it's very positive that you do poetry. Poetry has always been a positive steam release outlet for me. It is also another form of self talk and reflective thinking I would say.
ReplyDeleteI also agree upon how often we intrapersonally communicate, but do not fully realize how much we do it on a daily basis. As an only child, self-talk certainly comes second nature to me, which is why I am also interested in learning more about it. I recall having a passion for creative writing ever since I was in elementary school. It is always important to pursue job opportunities based upon your hobbies and interests. Being a teacher would allow you to greatly contribute towards bettering future generations, which is amazing!
