WORST GROUP EXPERIENCE
Since I am a 3rd year student at Alverno, of course I have had my fair share of good and bad group experiences. However, there is one experience that I had that made me never want to be apart of a group again!
I had a communication class during my first year. On the first day of class, the professor assigned us to the groups we would be having for the semester and informed us that the mid-term and finals would be presentations that you be the pretty much the main source of our grades. On that day, he also assigned our mid-term and finals right away. During the upcoming weeks, my group mates and I planned out and broke up the entire mid-term presentation. Leading up to the mid-term, we set up a google slide so we could all enter our information. After about 2 weeks, I noticed that I entered all my information and their slides were still blank. A week before the presentation, I asked them I they had the information or not and they said yeah. I then emailed them the night before because they still hadn't entered any information. The morning of the presentation, the professor and I waited and they never showed up or entered the portions of the project so he allowed me to wait for the next class to present. To be on the safe side, I just entered in the information myself on a separate google slides document. The morning of the next class, the professor pulled me to the side and informed me that the girls dropped the class a week prior to the presentation... THE DAY I ASKED THEM IF THEY HAD THEIR INFORMATION!!
Of course I went ahead and did my version of the presentation and passed with flying colors. Like I said before, I have had good experiences, but needless to say, after that experience I always keep a back up plan when it comes to group work.
