My terrible team experience happened at work. I work as a server at a country club. So its Friday night were really busy. At my work were suppose to remember our members last name and if they are a doctor. I had about 5 big tables that night and I forgot to use the members last name at one of the tables. I couldn't ask anyone to find out because everyone was running around. At the end of the night my manager comes up tp me and says one of your tables complained that you didn't call them by there last name the whole night. I told her what happened and then my manager wouldn't let me serve tell recently. This was a terrible experience because I was working my butt off but still get chewed out by my manager and on top of that loose my position. I had a lack of communication with my co workers and manager. If I had better communication and we were able to work as a team and make sure that everyone had an equal amount of tables, it would have been less chaotic

That really sucks that you got in trouble for something that small, but yeah i think if you would've tried to use better communication it would have been okay. Although you had a large amount of customers it was just one person so hopefully next time things go smoother!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds horrible, and like you were given too many tables of people at once. Better communication would have easily solved this problem and its terrible you got blamed for that.
