Tamara Ocasio CTP BLOG #2

After doing the reading and going through the powerpoint on interpersonal communication, the sections that I found the most interest in were climate communications and developing and maintaining friendships. My mood often differs from the situations I am dealing and the people that I am around at that time. Also I am someone that needs to get to know someone on a deep level before I can trust them to be able to express my deepest feelings to or even bee willing to create bond and/or friendship with.

One example is when I'm around adults or members of my family, I tend to be more reserved and respectful with my communication. However, when I am with my siblings, my mom or my best friend, I act super goofy or emotional and crazy and I'm just myself.

I have notice that I can be in the best or worst mood and depending on what someone that I am close to tells me, that can change instantly. With everything I have gone through in the past 7 months, I don't really like to talk or interact with people the way I use to because of lack of trust due to personal issues. So the ones that I still allow in emotionally really have the ability to change my mood completely even though they don't know it. Another thing is that I am someone that will avoid conflict. If a situation is thrown at me then I will handle it head-on. However, if I can avoid conflict or having something start, I will.

  1. I appreciate how honest and how aware you are about how your mood and behavior are affected by the people around you. It's great that you are interested in communication climate. I think that as you learn more about that you can apply it to developing and maintaining your friendships (those you already have, those you can mend, and those you can look forward to.)

  2. I can completely agree when you mentioned that your mood differs in other situations or other people around you. I am the same way. When there are classes that are more professional than others, I tend to behave professionally and respectful towards others. The pictures you provided in your blog helps to understand your blog and gets it a personal touch. Overall, your blog post is interesting and relate-able.
